The infamous Jay Gatsby murdered, but his legacy of throwing extraordinary parties will not be soon forgotten. Jay Gatsby was known for throwing lavish affairs where there was no expense spared to make sure his guests will have a good time.
Nick Carraway a neighbor of Jay Gatsby described the parties
“On week-ends his Rolls-Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to and from the city between nine in the morning and long past midnight, while his station wagon scampered like a brisk yellow bug to meet all trains. And on Mondays eight servants, including an extra gardener, toiled all day with mops and scrubbing-brushes and hammers and garden-shears, repairing the ravages of the night before.”
However many of his guests didn’t actually know who Gatsby was, he seemed to be somewhat of a legend or a mystery that not many people knew or were able to figure out.
During an interview Jordan Baker,
a guest of his parties didn’t have much to say about who Gatsby was but did say,
“Anyhow he gives large parties, and I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.”
As you can tell from this his guests were only interested in the parties them self, not who was throwing them. However when the outstanding parties came to a sudden stop his guests were confused as to why, and many had different speculations as to why.
However after the death or Mr. Gatsby no one will ever be able to be completely sure as to why they had abruptly stopped.
